WHO Report on health risks from long-range air pollution

2006

The World Health Organization (WHO) publishes a report on health risks of particulate matter from long-range, trans-boundary air pollution.

The report presents evidence about the sources of particulate matter, its atmospheric transport, and the influence of long-range, trans-boundary air pollution on human health. Its findings include clear evidence of a significant effect of long-range, trans-boundary air pollution on human health, which leads to the conclusion that international action in addition to local effort is important for reducing emissions.
