COVID-19 and Air Quality

The ClimPol team is engaged in a number of projects investigating the connections between air quality and the COIVD-19 pandemic. We are, for example, evaluating the role of air quality on the severity of COVID-19 outcomes for human health in collaboration with colleagues at the Charité. As part of this research we are also developing a resource that includes air quality at the county level for all of Germany for the past 10 years. We are also looking at the lockdown periods to better understand changes in urban air quality and the connection to traffic, and as an opportunity to evaluate model capabilities and policy. To learn more about any of these initiatives, please get in touch with Erika von Schneidemesser.

Updates to papers and analyses will be posted as they are published.
