ClimPol’s research highlighted in the local newspaper

On the 2nd of April, a special issue of the Potsdamer Neueste Nachrichten (PNN) written in conjunction with Prowissen Potsdam e.V. entitled “Science in the center” was published. Included among various articles discussing interesting research being conducted at scientific institutions across Potsdam was an article, written by IASS press officer Sabine Letz, describing ClimPol’s multifaceted research.

Among the work discussed were our mobile measurements of air pollutants using low-cost sensors strapped to bicycles. This was done to understand what range of concentrations of nitrogen dioxide (NO2) and ozone (O3) cyclists are exposed to along bike paths in Potsdam and Berlin. The article also discusses ClimPol’s survey research in Potsdam that sought to understand perceptions of the environment and air quality, as well as assess mobility habits and preferences in connection with a traffic-reducing measure implemented in the Zeppelinstraße.
